| | | The Lucky-Hotel. We are Worldchampion! Five football national teams were staying in the Le Méridien Grand Hotel and none of the teams lost! We did it! During the five world cup games in Nuremberg we hosted the national teams from Mexico, England, Japan, Ghana and Portugal. Besides about 75 rooms located on two exclusive and inaccessible floors. The historical Richard Wagner Room served as dining room for the players and the officials. Under the strict control of the chefs of the team the chef of the hotel prepared regional specialities of the particular country on a daily basis. The requirements of the particular doctors were strictly followed. Especially foods containing a lot of carbohydrates as well as lots of liqid like juices were on the menu. It got exotic for our Japanese guests; here two chefs were cooking live for them in the dining room. We are very proud that the meals as well as the especially considerate service of our house contributed to the fact that none of the hosted teams lost their games in Nuremberg. The players felt that comfortable staying at our hotel, that although the temperatures were very high that summer, this did not affect the results. |
